Fixing history display for text fields

If you customised a list in SharePoint Designer with text fields using Append Changes to Existing Text, their history stopped appearing.

Edit the customised list in SharePoint Designer 2007 and find the text field with history.

Replace:

<xsl:value-of select=”@V3Comments” disable-output-escaping=”yes” />

with

<SharePoint:AppendOnlyHistory runat=”server” FieldName=”V3Comments” ControlMode=”Display”/>

Your field may have a name other than V3Comments.

Add:
