Active Directory Integrated Zone is a primary DNS zone for a domain name (authoritative and writable), stored directly in the AD database.

 Advantages of AD Integrated Zones:

  • Faster, more efficient replication: AD Integrated Zones replicate through AD rather than standard DNS replication
  • Improved security: AD Integrated Zones support secure dynamic updates, allowing access control lists (ACLs) to protect dnsZone objects and containers.
