Read-Only DNS on an RODC (a read-only DNS server)

How does Read-Only DNSwork, as newly available on an RODC?

alt

Once the server has RODC (Read Only Domain Controler), a full read-only copy starts replicating from a DC with a writable database, including the AD application partition (Application Partition) used by the DNS server (ForestDNSZones and DomainDNSZones). This ensures that the DNS server running on the RODC has a complete read-only copy of any DNS zone stored in the DC's writable database.

Dynamic DNS updates on an RODC – When a client requests a dynamic DNS update on an RODC, its request is forwarded to a DC with a writable database.
