To display only a date in articles or section/category blog views (normally the creation date and time appear), make this code change.
Joomla 1.5 – changing Created Date to show the date only
Date/time display formats are defined separately for article, frontpage, category and section views. You can change all of them or just one. Template-level layout settings override defaults, so make the changes in your template first.
article layout definition
- /templates/[template name]/html/com_content/article/default.php
- /components/com_content/views/article/tmpl/default.php
category blog layout definition
- /templates/[template name]/html/com_content/category/blog_item.php
- /components/com_content/views/category/tmpl/blog_item.php
frontpage layout definition
- /templates/[template name]/html/com_content/frontpage/default_item.php
- /components/com_content/views/frontpage/tmpl/default_item.php
section blog layout definition
- /templates/[template name]/html/com_content/section/blog_item.php
- /components/com_content/views/section/tmpl/blog_item.php
in each file found, change the code from:
JText::_(‘DATE_FORMAT_LC2’)
to:
JText::_(‘DATE_FORMAT_LC’)
The selected views (article, section, category or frontpage) should now show only the date.
