- Download July 2022 Update for SharePoint Server 2019 (language dependent)
After installation, remember to run the SharePoint 2019 Products Configuration Wizard or the following command:
PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures -cmd secureresources -cmd services -install
Important notes
Always install both packages in this order:
- language independent components (core CU)
- language-dependent components (language CU)
For language-dependent packages, the language you select does not matter because each package contains updates for all languages.
If you install a new language pack on a SharePoint Server 2019 farm, you must reinstall the language-dependent update afterwards.
Remember to keep Distributed Cache updated as well as SharePoint. See How to update Distributed Cache correctly (in Czech).
Note for this CU:
Run the configuration wizard on every server in the farm after applying the updates, including servers without additional language packs, which also need both update packages.
An existing SharePoint Server 2019 installation is required for KB 5002229 and KB 5002230.
Either update, KB 5002229 or KB 5002230, may require a computer restart.
Included fixes and improvements
The following overview summarizes the fixes and improvements in this CU based on the official Microsoft KB articles.
SharePoint Server 2019
KB 5002229 corrects these SharePoint Server 2019 problems:
-
Rich text fields on classic pages now behave correctly for accessible keyboard navigation with
Tab. -
The recycle bin timer job now works when the SQL Server user’s language specifies a date format other than
YMD. -
Managed navigation no longer exposes pages that have not been published.
-
IIS application pools on some Web Front-End servers no longer suffer intermittent startup failures.
-
Copying a folder now regenerates the Document IDs of the files it contains.
Install KB 5002229 and KB 5002230 together for the following corrections:
-
The top navigation header on a team site retains its banner landmark label.
-
Team site pages now define their landmark roles correctly.
-
An internal link in the compact Quick Links web part layout no longer opens in a new browser tab.
-
The context menu in the Edit navigation pane now exposes whether it is expanded or collapsed.
-
Home page news cards receive accessibility corrections.
-
The new link dialog on SharePoint sites receives accessibility corrections.
-
Project Server: With Active Directory Resource Pool Synchronization enabled in Project Web App (PWA), commas in incoming user names conflict with the comma list separator and are normally replaced by semicolons. Before this fix, setting
WADMIN_AD_SYNC_REPLACE_CHARinpjpub.MSP_WEB_ADMINtoNULLor an empty string instead replaced the comma with a space. After installing KB 5002229, set the field toNULLto remove the comma without adding a replacement space; the KB illustrates the resulting name asLastname Firstname.
